Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question about safety training, drills or compliance? We’ve answered the most common ones below.

What areas do you serve?

F11 Fire and Life Safety is based in Long Beach, CA, and serves businesses across California, Nevada, and Alberta.

National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) safety regulations and best practices recommend conducting drills at least once a year. High-occupancy or higher-risk facilities may require more frequent drills.

Yes. We conduct an on-site survey of your building’s safety features and create a custom safety preparedness, live training and evacuation plan tailored to your facility.

An SRA is a designated location where occupants can gather safely during an evacuation to take roll call and determine who is missing and/or needs rescuing from the fire department. We help you identify and prepare this space during our assessment. An SRA must be 300 feet from the building to keep occupants out of the way of the fire department, falling debris, and or smoke.

Most drills take an hour or less, including setup and debrief, minimizing disruption to your daily operations.

Absolutely. Our services are designed to ensure you meet — and exceed — local and federal compliance requirements. We also provide audit-ready reports after each drill.

Yes. We provide hazard-specific programs for earthquakes, fire, workplace violence and threat situations, including bomb and active shooter response training.

The Great ShakeOut is a global earthquake preparedness initiative. We align our earthquake readiness programs with Great ShakeOut guidelines to ensure your team is prepared for seismic events common in California.

Yes. We provide Fire Safety Director, Warden and Safety Team Training, giving leaders the knowledge, role-specific responsibilities, and certifications they need to manage emergencies effectively.

Most drills and training sessions are scheduled within 3–4 weeks after we complete your building survey and site walk. This gives us time to prepare your customized training materials and coordinate with your team.

If you need it faster, expedited service is available. In rare cases—when surveys are returned immediately and scheduling allows—we can complete everything in as little as 1–2 weeks.

For most clients, the standard 3–4 week process works smoothly, and local Fire Departments are usually comfortable allowing that timeline once they know we’re involved.
